Emergence
It all started when a special person gave me a cactus without saying a lot, even though I never really liked cacti. I didn't think they were beautiful at all. Because of their thorns, they had something threatening and unapproachable in my eyes, and so I couldn't do much with these bulky plants. In a difficult phase of my life this person gave me a cactus as a present and said: “The cactus is a symbol of power and strength, to survive dry periods like this hard time. The pain will pass. "
Wow - what power the words had! That metaphor immediately threw a lever inside of me. Since I see cacti with completely different eyes, because my attitude towards them had changed instantly in just a moment. Since then, cacti have given me an incredible amount of strength and confidence. It's true: they don't need a lot of water, they survive longer periods of drought and are still resilient and tough - the plants remain steadfast and are capable that beautiful flowers arise. Sot hey are by nature survivors.
“The question is not what you look at, but what you see.”
Henry David Thoreau
This gift reminded me again that everything in life is a matter of your own perspective. You alone can decide how you want to react to the things in your life that you cannot control. But what you have in your hand are your thoughts and your evaluations. Cacti now serve as a reminder for me to see the strength in me when I sometimes forget and cannot see it, because dark clouds will pass. These moments are even precious to become more steadfast and ultimately stronger - they mean growth. As a result, times of crisis always create new opportunities. I find cacti magical now! In particular, each plant is unique and beautiful in its own special way. And I am convinced that every person has an inner cactus - their own treasure, so to speak. Since then I have always had a little cactus on my table to remind myself what inner strength and resilience mean and above all: you have always the choice of how you want to feel. So this little plant inspired me so much that KEKOA was born.
